I started Essential Families in January 2020 because Strengthening Families is Essential to our Community, City, and State. And, we believe, Everything Starts at Home...
That said, I wanted to provide you with an update on what's happening inside Essential Families.
1. Essential Families has helped 559 households with laptop computers, basic computer training/literacy, finding the best affordable internet, Essential Telehealth and wrap around services needed by children and families in the greater Kansas City area.
2. Essential Families, in partnership with the City of Kansas City, beginning winter of 2024, will reach 3,145 additional households with laptop computers, basic computer training/literacy, finding the best affordable internet, Essential Telehealth, Essential Parenting, and other wrap around services needed by children in the families in the greater Kansas City area.
3. To serve children and families more effectively and efficiently, we are upgrading our entire software platform, to include voice translation, and much needed Digital Navigator features.
5. The Kauffman Foundation, who helped Essential Families start, has additional funding coming winter 2024, that we will go after, helping additional households.
